The Urris Empire was one of the most influential states of the fourth millenium. It imposed the Peace of Urris in 3796, shaping the world politics until its fall in 4000, during the Eruption of the Urrian Traps.<div style="float: right;">

Tulast, was the prince of Urris, an independent state but with a close relationship with the Micium magocracies. He was chosen as successor of the Pexnish Archimage (southern Gram with Nemu as capital) . When he inherited the title in '''3200''', he moved the capital to Navatum and renamed it Urris Magocracy. He annexed the Vimum and Sblarfum principalities. This sparked a rebellion in the Sblarflozi, which ended in 3233 with the annexation of most of the Sblarflozi to the magocracy with the exception of the northern part which formed an independent republic.

He declared war on the Urrimiao Magocracy fully conquering it in 3248. With all of Urris under his control he moved his focus. In the following years Tulast conquered the Brumum (3251) and Nonum (3276) magocracies, in the archipelagoes between southern Gram and Urris. Both of these Archimages were forced to commit suicide and Tulast claimed their Croms. The Archimage Council declared acceptable that he held the three Croms but imposed that he chose a different successor for each.

After the the death of Tulast in 3297, the Micium Urris Magocracy was governed by a Triumvirate of the three successor Archimages, residing in Navatum, Nonum and Brumum. In the following century, the magocracy conquered the equatorial archipelagoes westward of Urris and Tluc Cape. In 3440 the south of Stu was conquered from Amestin and the Stumi tribes. Between 3468 and 3470 the magocracy raided Amestin and Aoner territories on the Mibfoc, sacking Nemibfo and Birbor.

Pevenest Teduria was from a noble family of Urris (her cousin Villum-Trimaenao Teduria was Prince of Mastria and her brother Villum-Meris Teduria was prince of Stu), as such she ruled over small territories in Urris. But was also military governor of the Amestin province south of the Mibfoc (chosen by the Amestin Emperor for he commanding skills, to control the border with Xandoria) . She lost fealty in the magocracy, when in 3469 the Archimages let their armies raid her territories on the Mibfoc. In '''3470''' a coup was organized with the help of most of the nobles of the Urris magocracy. Pevenest obtained the support of Amestin and Aoner fleets. The first step was the assasination of the three Urris Archimages, which was carried out by the Aoner Archimage and the two Amestin Archimages. The Urris Archimages were taken by surprise in their respective residences. After their death, Pevenest sieged and conquered Navatum, while the other cities were already in the hands of allied nobles or were swiftly taken. Aoner and Amestin fleets, helped in controlling the equatorial archipelagoes and Tluc Cape. Before the end of the year, all the princes of the old Magocracy submitted to Pevenest, she was crowned Empress in 3471. The administration of the Empire evolved drastically compared to the one of the Magocracy, Pevenest based these changes mostly on the Amestin bureaucratic system. The noble families that supported Pevenest during the coup were granted most of the territories of those who stayed loyal to the Archimages. Pevenest founded Urrumur a new city to serve as the capital of the Empire.

During the following Archimage council in 3483 (by petition of the Aoner, Elesmiao and Amestin Archimages) it was decided to permanently inscribe the Croms of the three Urris Archimages with a spell binding them to the service of the Urris Empire.

The relationship between Urris and Amestin deteriorated after the death of Pevenest in 3485, this lead to a war in Stu between 3487 and 3492. The war ended with the retreat of the Urris Empire from southern Stu. In 3501 the Prince-Governor of Dimmum (southern Gram) rebelled and gained independence. This hindered the stability of the whole Empire, which now had no easy access to any regions to source iron ore to produce steel (its biggest export). The following century Urris was in a decadent state, but some emperors nevertheless tried to take back Stu (in 3523, 3527, 3555) and Dimmum (in 3535, 3564, 3587, 3591). These military campaigns were vastly unsuccessful and plunged the Empire in a greater economic decline which triggered more rebellions from nobles and tribes all over the Empire.

Urris steel production would see new growth when the Mialof Republic took over the Elesmiao and Aoner magocracies and opened trade to the Urris Empire. The alliance with the Republic in 3593 granted the Urris Empire with a steady supply of iron ore and better trade with all of Miaotir. The following emperors took a more defensive stance, securing their territories, this allowed demographic expansion. Some changes in doctrine influenced by Mialof allowed for more people to receive education.

In 3705 the Urris Empire fought in the Amestin succession war on the side of Stoluu (with Mialof). Its attack of Nemibfo in 3710, even if unsuccessful allowed the Mialof Republic to take the city later. In 3718 Urris attacked the Dimmum principality while it was under heavy pressure from both the Gram Republic and the Vimmic tribes.

Urris finally reconquered the territories of Southern Gram in 3721, with the support of the Silperom and Vimum Principalities. In Nemu the Emperor Envoys discovered old research and new discoveries which helped Urris Archimages to develop new recipes for steel. These allowed Urris to greatly expand its military and fleet. New armored ships were used to attack Amestin (still under the Succession War), mostly Tlucacri and other cities of eastern Tluctir between 3720-3730 (territories under the control of Tufnuskaras). However, even if Stoluu reigned victorious over Amestin after 3732, Urris kept attacking Amestin. This culminated in a large campaign to conquer Stu in 3735. The Urris armies were at this point largely superior to any other. Which let them expand their territories in the following decades. The Sblarflozi was conquered in 3736. Ruoiv in 3745. South-East of Accriem in 3750.

In 3740 the alliance with the Mialof Republic is renewed and strengthened. This laid the foundation for the peace of Urris, which was declared by Emperor Xavamis in Miaopiaotiao in 3796. It was signed by all the influential states of the time. This treaty effectively froze all borders and wars were officially prohibited. Urris received the monopoly of steel production and the Mialof Republic trading privileges. To enforce this treaty Urris reformed its legions in the Urrian Peace Enforcement Army. This army could intervene anywhere to bring down any group that would not respect the peace.

Even if wars were theoretically not allowed by the Urris Peace, the Empire granted various times exceptions to itself or close allies. In most cases the wars in question were civil wars or rebellions. One such example is the Burning of Stu, in 3921 the Stumi tribes rebelled. They had been brought into servitude by Urris and worked in the iron mines in Stu. The rebellion lasted until 3929, during this time the Stumi attacked Urris cities along the coast of Stu island and brought iron ore export to a stop. However that year the Urrian Peace Enforcement Army intervened in full force with the Urris Archimages. The Stumi tribes were decimated and the forests of Stu island were systematically burned. What remained of the Stumi were enslaved to work in the mines. This event sparked critiques inside the Urris Empire and from other countries, mostly the Um-Ulum state and the Gram Republic. However they could not compete overwhelming Urris military, so they kept in line with the treaty.

When Tulast, conquered Urris island he began the creation of new Geo-magic Sources, for which the high volcanic activity of Urris was especially suitable. In the process of creating those he accidentally was able to create a heat extraction and concentration device. He began exporting iron ore from the mines in southern Gram to Urris. Iron smelting was previously done directly in the Pexnish Magocracy using charcoal and small bloomeries. This magical process could extract geothermal energy and use it to heat a furnace to more than 2000°C, the reduction of the ore was possible thanks to the use of carbon-monoxyde rich volcanic gases, naturally present in Urris island. This technique could make steel, which at the time was extremely tedious to fabricate. In the centuries of the Micium Urris Magocracy, this technique was developed but was a well kept secret. Volcanic-funaces where constructed in Urris but also in Nonum, Brumum and Dimmum principalities (where the lower volcanic activity did not allow for a large number of furnaces). Following this basic process mages in Urris began experimenting with new magical iron alloys, in the following centuries three were mass produced.

Around 3440 a recipe for Mast-Steel, a ductile but resistant steel perfect for construction, was developed in Urris. This steel was a magical alloy that helped in the following years expand Urris architecture, its export allowed for example the construction of Fillimia Tower and other great buildings.

The second alloy, Afner-Steel (containing manganese and chromium in addition to unknown magical compounds) was less ductile but even more resistant. It was developed first in Nemu around 3580, but when in 3721 the Urris Empire conquered back the Dimmum principality, the recipe was perfected by the Archimages. It was used for armor, for ships and soldiers.

The most prized Urris Steel, was Mien-Steel (with additional Nickel found in the iron mines of Stu), it was first made in 3739. This steel was completely stainless, with high toughness while retaining good ductility. Its melting point was over 2500°C, making working it nearly impossible outside of volcanic-furnaces. Weapons and tools made from this alloy were exclusively manufactured in Urris Island (the forges in the rest of the Empire were only allowed to work the other types of steels). Swords and other weapons made from Mien-Steel kept their edge virtually forever even with intense use, moreover they were also virtually indestructible by bending at low temperatures.

The production of these steels stopped after the fall of the empire, with the death of the three Archimages the knowledge to make these alloys was lost. After 4000 steel began to be produced in other places using blast furnaces, however the produced alloys were far behind the ones produced by Urris. The stocks of these materials and especially Mien-Steel were highly valued and a great source of contention.

The title of Archimage originates in [[Miaopiaoism|Miaopiaoist]] tradition. They were powerful [[magic]] users that had an pivotal role in Flying Cat culture. Their power was symbolized by a stone tablet called "Crom". They held the power to elect a "Super Flying Cat" and were the only ones allowed to ride Dragons. They were the leaders of Flying Cats during their early history, but they lost most of their political power with time. They convened every 20 years in the Archimage Council.

----The title of Archimage was created around 100 AA by the 26 grandchildren of Altam, who thus became the first Archimages. This to define a title for those who can tame Dragons and choose the "Super Flying Cat" The rules of inheritance of the title were codified in the book ''Control of Magic''. The title was symbolized by the Colm, a carved stone tablet. It was passed down to a chosen apprentice, upon the Archimage death or abdication. This resulted in the fact that each Crom was mostly passed inside the same culture. The book also established the Archimage Council, held n Miaopiatiao every 20 years. It was created to maintain harmony between the culturecs and take decisions on the use of magic.

In the following centuries the Archimages held all power. They first coexisted peacefully and planned the colonization of new archipelagoes during the Archimages Councils. They first ruled directly, their states were called Magocracies. However around 1000AA they began to delegate the rule of far or newly colonized land to members of their family or apprentices. During one of the Archimage Councils, the title of "Prince" was created. These Princes were give land by an Archimage and ruled it (more or less independently). However with the passing time the relations between Archimages of different culture deteriorated. During this period independent tribes began to appear in newly colonized land, far from the control of the Archimage or its Princes. Tension sometime rose between the Archimages over control of some newly colonized pieces of land. This resulted in some conflicts, however most were resolved during the Archimage Councils. However this fragile peace did not last. In 1121 AA, the first direct war erupted between the Mimie and Maccin Archimages of Stu, marking the end of peaceful coexistence. The wars gave the opportunity to Princes or others to take power over new lands. More the time passed more the Archimages lost power. The Magocracies fell one by one during the three following millenia; the Archimages kept only a counseling power in most states. In 4047 only two Magocracies remained.

----The Crom is a stone tablet symbolizing the power of the Archimage. The 26 original tablets were carved by the grandchildren of Altam from "Feltemast", a block of basalt from on top of which Altam was said to have seen Semor and Nador.

Each one of the first 26 grandchildren of Altam started a lineage of Archimages, those held great importance in culture and politics of the flying cats. The following timelines are divided by the ethnicity of the first Archimage of the lineage (even if it changed after). Miao Archimages are in red, Micium in grey, Muccin in blue, Mimie in yellow, Mecim in green and Maccin in purple. Next to the name of the Archimage is their residency. Names with * hold an independent magocracy, others are dependent.

The number of archimages stayed stable throughout time, however there were some exceptions:

* In 2720 the Amieve Empire conquered Amial and killed its Miao Archimage. Amieve named Cofmi as his successor. However the other Miao archimages didn't find the succession rightful. So they made a new Crom, it was given to Garanov who founded a new magocracy in Hassi.

* In 2980 at the siege of Gelaltimio, the archimage Agan Mellu, commited suicide by creating an explosion that destroyed the city. The crom was destroyed. A piece was recovered by Nejer of Amisen, who became a Miao archimage. Another piece was taken by Fenira, who became an archimage at the service of Amieve.

* In 3533 the Miao Empire conquered the Aviam magocracy and forced its archimage to name Trefil (Miao) as successor. In response a new crom was created by the other Muccin achimages and was given to Frantostoa of Selidia.

*In 4000 the Urris archimages died during the great eruptions of the island. The three Crom were lost, thus no one succeeded them as archimages.

The wars gave the opportunity to Princes or others to take power over new lands. More the time passed more the Archimages lost power. The title of Archimage originates in [[Miaopiaoism|Miaopiaoist]] tradition. They were powerful [[magic]] users that had an pivotal role in Flying Cat culture. Their power was symbolized by a stone tablet called "Crom". They held the power to elect a "Super Flying Cat" and were the only ones allowed to ride Dragons. They were the leaders of Flying Cats during their early history, but they lost most of their political power with time. They convened every 20 years in the Archimage Council.

=== History ===
----The title of Archimage was created around 100 AA by the 26 grandchildren of Altam, who thus became the first Archimages. This to define a title for those who can tame Dragons and choose the "Super Flying Cat" The rules of inheritance of the title were codified in the book ''Control of Magic''. The title was symbolized by the Colm, a carved stone tablet. It was passed down to a chosen apprentice, upon the Archimage death or abdication. This resulted in the fact that each Crom was mostly passed inside the same culture. The book also established the Archimage Council, held n Miaopiatiao every 20 years. It was created to maintain harmony between the culturecs and take decisions on the use of magic.

In the following centuries the Archimages held all power. They first coexisted peacefully and planned the colonization of new archipelagoes during the Archimages Councils. They first ruled directly, their states were called Magocracies. However around 1000AA they began to delegate the rule of far or newly colonized land to members of their family or apprentices. During one of the Archimage Councils, the title of "Prince" was created. These Princes were give land by an Archimage and ruled it (more or less independently). However with the passing time the relations between Archimages of different culture deteriorated. During this period independent tribes began to appear in newly colonized land, far from the control of the Archimage or its Princes. Tension sometime rose between the Archimages over control of some newly colonized pieces of land. This resulted in some conflicts, however most were resolved during the Archimage Councils. However this fragile peace did not last. In 1121 AA, the first direct war erupted between the Mimie and Maccin Archimages of Stu, marking the end of peaceful coexistence. The wars gave the opportunity to Princes or others to take power over new lands. More the time passed more the Archimages lost power. The Magocracies fell one by one during the three following millenia; the Archimages kept only a counseling power in most states. In 4047 only two Magocracies remained.

=== Crom ===
----The Crom is a stone tablet symbolizing the power of the Archimage. The 26 original tablets were carved by the grandchildren of Altam from "Feltemast", a block of basalt from on top of which Altam was said to have seen Semor and Nador.

=== Archimage Lineages ===
----
Each one of the first 26 grandchildren of Altam started a lineage of Archimages, those held great importance in culture and politics of the flying cats. The following timelines are divided by the ethnicity of the first Archimage of the lineage (even if it changed after). Miao Archimages are in red, Micium in grey, Muccin in blue, Mimie in yellow, Mecim in green and Maccin in purple. Next to the name of the Archimage is their residency. Names with * hold an independent magocracy, others are dependent.

The number of archimages stayed stable throughout time, however there were some exceptions:

* In 2720 the Amieve Empire conquered Amial and killed its Miao Archimage. Amieve named Cofmi as his successor. However the other Miao archimages didn't find the succession rightful. So they made a new Crom, it was given to Garanov who founded a new magocracy in Hassi.

* In 2980 at the siege of Gelaltimio, the archimage Agan Mellu, commited suicide by creating an explosion that destroyed the city. The crom was destroyed. A piece was recovered by Nejer of Amisen, who became a Miao archimage. Another piece was taken by Fenira, who became an archimage at the service of Amieve.

* In 3533 the Miao Empire conquered the Aviam magocracy and forced its archimage to name Trefil (Miao) as successor. In response a new crom was created by the other Muccin achimages and was given to Frantostoa of Selidia.

*In 4000 the Urris archimages died during the great eruptions of the island. The three Crom were lost, thus no one succeeded them as archimages.
