Before the Empire: Micium Urris Magocracy (3200-3470)
Mertoch Dinasty (2650-2821)
Tulast, was the prince of Urris, an independent state but with a close relationship with the Micium magocracies. He was chosen as successor of the Pexnish Archimage (southern Gram with Nemu as capital) . When he inherited the title in 3200, he moved the capital to Navatum and renamed it Urris Magocracy. He annexed the Vimum and Sblarfum principalities. This sparked a rebellion in the Sblarflozi, which ended in 3233 with the annexation of most of the Sblarflozi to the magocracy with the exception of the northern part which formed an independent republic.

Casm was chief of the Mertoch tribe, who were nomads living in the north-eastern Siemetv. In the years 2640-2645 she united other Mecim tribes of the eastern Siemetv. She signed protection contracts with the Miao villages in the canyons and cities along the coast of the Siemetv. Most importantly, she conquered the city of Crisiem in 2644, ruled by Nelheska the Siemtelst Archimage. After being defeated Nelheska offered to work for Casm, because the other Archimages would not have let him settle elsewhere. With the power of an Archimage on her side Casm expanded her territories along the coast of the Siem Sea. She finally settled in 2650 in a new city, Amievimmia.

He declared war on the Urrimiao Magocracy fully conquering it in 3248. With all of Urris under his control he moved his focus. In the following years Tulast conquered the Brumum (3251) and Nonum  (3276) magocracies, in the archipelagoes between southern Gram and Urris. Both of these Archimages were forced to commit suicide and Tulast claimed their Croms. The Archimage Council declared acceptable that he held the three Croms but imposed that he chose a different successor for each.
The Amieve Empire followed primogeniture inheritance during most of its history, her son Casm II inherited the Empire in 2680 continued the expansion of the Amieve Empire by conquering Habreskeha and killing Telm III (Kolpishdian Archimage) in 2720. Casm II gave the captured Crom to Cofmi an apprentice of Alarn. This sparked a conflict with the other Miao Archimages. They decided to create a new Crom which was granted to Garanov, a mage who lived in the city of Hassi (on an island in the Siem Sea).

After the the death of Tulast in 3297, the Micium Urris Magocracy was governed by a Triumvirate of the three successor Archimages, residing in Navatum, Nonum and Brumum. In the following century, the magocracy conquered the equatorial archipelagoes westward of Urris and Tluc Cape. In 3440 the south of Stu was conquered from Amestin and the Stumi tribes. Between 3468 and 3470 the magocracy raided Amestin and Aoner territories on the Mibfoc, sacking Nemibfo and Birbor.
At the death of Casm II (in 2735) war erupted between the newly formed Hasmiao Magocracy and the Amieve Empire. Hasmiao had total naval dominance in the Siem Sea and Amieve cities on the coast had their trade stopped. Hasmiao successfully took all the Siem southern coast by 2740 but was unable to advance further. Hasmiao was able to ally most of the Miao people across the Siemetv. Most city-states of Klarm lake, Snemiao, Tomisne, Vomiao, Tassam, Nafafamio joined the war on Hasmiao's side. While Amieve called for their allies: Urumiao, Sermio and various nomad Bossiem and Nassiem tribes. In 2747 Amieve retook the Siem southern coast, defeating Hasmiao. However the war continued around Klarm Lake, until 2752. As a reprisal Amieve razed the cities of Klarm Lake (except Urumiao). The war ended with Amieve victory and the annexation of the territories around Klarm Lake to the Empire.

Birth of the Empire (3470-3485)
Mieir Rule and First Civil War (2790-2858)
Pevenest Teduria was from a noble family of Urris (her cousin Villum-Trimaenao Teduria was Prince of Mastria and her brother Villum-Meris Teduria was prince of Stu), as such she ruled over small territories in Urris. But was also military governor of the Amestin province south of the Mibfoc (chosen by the Amestin Emperor for he commanding skills, to control the border with Xandoria) . She lost fealty in the magocracy, when in 3469 the Archimages let their armies raid her territories on the Mibfoc. In 3470 a coup was organized with the help of most of the nobles of the Urris magocracy. Pevenest obtained the support of Amestin and Aoner fleets. The first step was the assasination of the three Urris Archimages, which was carried out by the Aoner Archimage and the two Amestin Archimages. The Urris Archimages were taken by surprise in their respective residences. After their death, Pevenest sieged and conquered Navatum, while the other cities were already in the hands of allied nobles or were swiftly taken. Aoner and Amestin fleets, helped in controlling the equatorial archipelagoes and Tluc Cape. Before the end of the year, all the princes of the old Magocracy submitted to Pevenest, she was crowned Empress in 3471. The administration of the Empire evolved drastically compared to the one of the Magocracy, Pevenest based these changes mostly on the Amestin bureaucratic system. The noble families that supported Pevenest during the coup were granted most of the territories of those who stayed loyal to the Archimages. Pevenest founded Urrumur a new city to serve as the capital of the Empire.
In the following decades the priests and monks of the temples around Klarm Lake became extremely powerful. The Great Priest of Mieir became a permanent advisor to the Emperor. In 2790, Siemtiemieir II inherited the Empire when only 5 years old. The Great Priest of Mieir acted as regent and was able to shift the power away from the Emperor and the Mertoch Family. Bossiem tribes that were under the Empire were the most discontent of this situation. They laid siege the temple of Mieir in 2798 but were unable to take it, they abandoned the siege in 2803. They moved to Amievimmia, the city and the Emperor guards surrendered with not much resistance. Most of the Bossiem tribes were still loyal to the Mertoch. However, Pucnoi the great chief of the Lorim tribes entered first in the palace and killed the young Emperor. Pucnoi declared himself emperor, he managed to get some tribes on his side and drive out the other Bossiem tribes. The Amieve Empire fell in a general civil war, with on one side the Lorim, on another the Great Priest of Mieir, on another one the tribes still loyal to the Mertoch and on top of this multiple warlords took portions of the empire under their control. By 2805, Pucnoi was able to retake control of most of the previous territories of the Empire, except of Klarm Lake and Habreskeha. The Mertoch tribe and their allies fell back in Nassiem territory.

During the following Archimage council in 3483 (by petition of the Aoner, Elesmiao and Amestin Archimages) it was decided to permanently inscribe the Croms of the three Urris Archimages with a spell binding them to the service of the Urris Empire.
In 2811 Mieir Clergy struck a pact with the Mertoch, they would help to restore a Mertoch Emperor on the throne, but all decisions had to officially go through Great Priest. With the funds available to the Mieir Clergy and the influence of the Mertoch tribe it was easy to sway the war in their favor. In 2815, Pucnoi was defeated and the Lorim tribe were systematically enslaved. Opnarib-Mieir of the Mertoch became Emperor. In the following years the Mieir Clergy fully took control of the Empire. Sapnava-Mieir-Klarmoyu, the Mieir temple-citadel on Klarm Island became effectively the second capital of the Empire.

Lack period(3485-3720)
Yevinnam II, rising to the throne in 2824 tried to retake in her hands control over the Empire. However the Mieir Clergy (probably falsely) accused her of having raided a temple during the civil war. She was exiled in 2826, the Mieir Clergy declared that the Mertoch line was tainted by Mere and was not fit to lead the Empire. To choose the following Emperor the Great-Priest of Mieir declared that the Emperor would be the one most blessed by Mieir. In practice, the one that made the greatest offering to the temple. The Tahakkamaovi tribe (one of the Liecie Nations) from the Eastern Siemetv, was able to offer to the temple the loot they had gained from raiding Tramme. Thus Jaratenuperx the Tahakkamaovi Great Chief became Emperor, by now the title was practically ceremonial. The Emperor title was now passed down following standard Liecie succession, so the eldest sibling always inherited first. In the following decades most of the taxes of the Empire went to Sapnava-Mieir-Klarmoyu, the Great Temple was rebuilt in an opulent architecture. It soon became the largest temple on Miavegr at the time. While the Mieir Priests lived luxurious lives, famines struck most of the Empire, the cities were most affected. Large previously settled population, took again into a nomad lifestyle but this generated frictions with other tribes and pushed them to raid others territories. The Mieir Clergy was effective in maintaining their supremacy by fear of divine punishment and by pitting tribes against each other.
The relationship between Urris and Amestin deteriorated after the death of Pevenest in 3485, this lead to a war in Stu between 3487 and 3492. The war ended with the retreat of the Urris Empire from southern Stu. In 3501 the Prince-Governor of Dimmum (southern Gram) rebelled and gained independence. This hindered the stability of the whole Empire, which now had no easy access to any regions to source iron ore to produce steel (its biggest export). The following century Urris was in a decadent state, but some emperors nevertheless tried to take back Stu (in 3523, 3527, 3555) and Dimmum (in 3535, 3564, 3587, 3591). These military campaigns were vastly unsuccessful and plunged the Empire in a greater economic decline which triggered more rebellions from nobles and tribes all over the Empire.

Urris steel production would see new growth when the Mialof Republic took over the Elesmiao and Aoner magocracies and opened trade to the Urris Empire. The alliance with the Republic in 3593 granted the Urris Empire with a steady supply of iron ore and better trade with all of Miaotir. The following emperors took a more defensive stance, securing their territories, this allowed demographic expansion. Some changes in doctrine influenced by Mialof allowed for more people to receive education.
Second Civil War (2858-2894)
In 2858 the unrest grew in the southern Siem and Yevinnam II, still in exile took the opportunity. She conquered the coast between Sav and Habreskeha and affirmed being the true Emperor. She declared that the Mieir Priests had betrayed the will of Altam and promised to allied tribes to loot the Sapnava-Mieir-Klarmoyu. This second civil war culminated in 2860 when Yevinnam II took Amievimmia. The war then froze, because of the fortified positions of the Mieir Clergy in Klarm Lake. The situation stalled until 2892 when Klarm monasteries rebelled and let with their ships, Arimecim tribes on Klarm Island. The Sapnava-Mieir-Klarmoyu was sacked, but left standing.  The current Emperor, Casm III retook all of Klarm in 2893 but when it was discovered that Mieir Great Temple had already been sacked, the tribes saw their promise broken and revolted against the Mertoch Emperor. Casm III lost his final battle in Eviridim and was killed there. The tribe chiefs of the Empire gathered and voted for the Mibrox noble Passunvelez to become Emperor in 2894.

In 3705 the Urris Empire fought in the Amestin succession war on the side of Stoluu (with Mialof). Its attack of Nemibfo in 3710, even if unsuccessful allowed the Mialof Republic to take the city later. In 3718 Urris attacked the Dimmum principality while it was under heavy pressure from both the Gram Republic and the Vimmic tribes.
Mibrox Dinasty, Golden Age (2894-3053)
Passunvelez on one side focused on centralizing power and organizing the Empire in principalities, while on the other he started multiple expansion campaigns. Between 2905 and 2911 he conquered Sermio, Nafafamio and Talmumi. Then he expanded the borders east along the Upper Mibfoc. He founded Otucnes as a fortess-city on the river. His successor, Mibrosiem, launched an attack on the Hasmiao magocracy in 2932 taking their eastern territories and the city of Vordiem. The following century was mostly peaceful: a border was fixed with the Xao Empire. To facilitate commerce south, with the Malacin Empire, the trade routes were secured with allegiance pacts with various tribes and the construction of the cities of Ugribres and Sarmiut. With the same scope in 3007 the Amieve Empire started a campaign against the Sugimmian Oligarchy, which had control of the trade route between the regions of the Siemetv and Mimia. The Empire quickly captured the city of Siemia, which was still in construction, but was held off in Assugi. During the following decade the Amieve Empire armies disrupted caravans from Sugimmia. This slowly strained relations between the noble families in the coastal city. Thanks to this the Amieve Empire was finally able to take Assugi and then Sugimmia in 3018. The Emperor Tanumellov, to further stabilize his power in the region, moved the capital to Sugimmia. This helped with the following conquest of the rest of Espiim Peninsula (Espinao Kingdom) in 3023. The Amieve Empire its greatest expansion in 3032 with the conquest of the High Esketer. During these decades the Amieve Empire was at the peak of its Golden Age. However this abruptly ended in 3053.

Gold from steel (3720-3796)
Fall (3053-3113)
Urris finally reconquered the territories of Southern Gram in 3721, with the support of the Silperom and Vimum Principalities. In Nemu the Emperor Envoys discovered old research and new discoveries which helped Urris Archimages develop new steel alloys. These allowed Urris to greatly expand its military and fleet. New armored ships were used to attack Amestin (still under the Succession War), mostly Tlucacri and other cities of eastern Tluctir between 3720-3730 (territories under the control of Tufnuskaras). However, even if Stoluu reigned victorious  over Amestin after 3732, Urris kept attacking Amestin. This culminated in a large campaign to conquer Stu in 3735. The Urris armies were at this point largely superior to any other. Which let them expand their territories in the following decades. The Sblarflozi was conquered in 3736. Ruoiv in 3745. South-East of Accriem in 3750.
In 3053 the newly formed Amestin Empire launched an attack on Espiim, they took most of the peninsula but the Sugimmia was too well fortified and guarded. The siege lasted for five years, there were still no signs of struggle on Amieve side while the Amestin were reconsidering continuing the siege. In 3058 when Mibrosiem III, the Amieve Emperor, tried to secretly flee the city of Sugimmia, she was spotted by the Amestin vanguard and killed. Following this, Amieve army was in disarray and the city was taken by Amestin. They imprisoned the Mibrox family and took full control of Espiem. In Amievimmia, there was no successor related to Mibrosiem III, multiple tribe chiefs affirmed their family connections to the Mibrox. There were some conflicts in the Empire, however the Princes intervened and placed Plirplirkas Tahakkamaovi on the throne in 3062. Following this, the Princes obtained more independence and the Emperor lost most of his centralized power. Receiving lower taxes from the Princes the Emperor raised the tributes asked from nomad tribes in 3071. A first war took place between 3075 and 3080, multiple tribes were able to regain independence. In 3087 the Hasmiao Magocracy attacked the Empire and took its western territories. Lastly after 3110 the Empire began to fragment, the Princes did not acknowledge the authority of the Emperor. By 3110, the nomad tribes and the Princes began attacking caravans and raiding the cities on the Siemetv plateau, most were razed and not reconstructed after. The tribes of the northern Siemetv were the most active in the conflict, in 3113 the Effi tribe entered Amievimmia and killed Sormax, the last Emperor of Amieve. The Effi tribe chief declared herself king of Amieve, but had control over a much smaller territory and there was no continuity with the Amieve Empire institutions.

In 3740 the alliance with the Mialof Republic is renewed and strengthened. This laid the foundation for the peace of Urris, which was declared by Emperor Xavamis in Miaopiaotiao in 3796. It was signed by all the influential states of the time. This treaty effectively froze all borders and wars were officially prohibited. Urris received the monopoly of steel production and the Mialof Republic trading privileges. To enforce this treaty Urris reformed its legions in the Urrian Peace Enforcement Army. This army could intervene anywhere to bring down any group that would not respect the peace.

Urris Peace (3796-4000)
Even if wars were theoretically not allowed by the Urris Peace, the Empire granted various times exceptions to itself or close allies. In most cases the wars in question were civil wars or rebellions. One such example is the Burning of Stu, in 3921 the Stumi tribes rebelled. They had been brought into servitude by Urris and worked in the iron mines in Stu. The rebellion lasted until 3929, during this time the Stumi attacked Urris cities along the coast of Stu island and brought iron ore export to a stop. However that year the Urrian Peace Enforcement Army intervened in full force with the Urris Archimages. The Stumi tribes were decimated and the forests of Stu island were systematically burned. What remained of the Stumi were enslaved to work in the mines. This event sparked critiques inside the Urris Empire and from other countries, mostly the Um-Ulum state and the Gram Republic. However they could not compete overwhelming Urris military, so they kept in line with the treaty.

Steel
When Tulast conquered Urris island he began the creation of new Geo-magic Sources, for which the high volcanic activity of Urris was especially suitable. In the process of creating those he accidentally was able to create a heat extraction and concentration device. This magical process could extract geothermal energy and use it to heat a furnace to more than 2000°C, these structures were called Volcanic-furnaces He began exporting iron ore from the mines in southern Gram to Urris, where it was previously directly smelted using charcoal in small bloomeries. In the new process, the reduction of the ore was possible thanks to the use of carbon-monoxyde rich volcanic gases, naturally present in Urris island. This technique could make steel, which at the time was extremely tedious to fabricate. In the centuries of the Micium Urris Magocracy, this technique was developed but was a well kept secret. Volcanic-furnaces where constructed in Urris but also in Nonum, Brumum and Dimmum principalities (where the lower volcanic activity did not allow for a large number of furnaces). Following this basic process mages in Urris began experimenting with new magical iron alloys, in the following centuries three were mass produced.
Around 3440 a recipe for Mast-Steel, a ductile but resistant steel perfect for construction, was developed in Urris. This steel was a magical alloy that helped in the following years expand Urris architecture, its export allowed for example the construction of Fillimia Tower and other great buildings.
The second alloy, Afner-Steel (containing manganese and chromium in addition to unknown magical compounds) was less ductile but even more resistant. It was developed first in Nemu around 3580, but when in 3721 the Urris Empire conquered back the Dimmum principality, the recipe was perfected by the Archimages. It was used for armor, for ships and soldiers.
The most prized Urris Steel, was Mien-Steel (with additional Nickel found in the iron mines of Stu), it was first made in 3739. This steel was completely stainless, with high toughness while retaining good ductility. Its melting point was over 2500°C, making working it nearly impossible outside of volcanic-furnaces. Weapons and tools made from this alloy were exclusively manufactured in Urris Island (the forges in the rest of the Empire were only allowed to work the other types of steels). Swords and other weapons made from Mien-Steel kept their edge virtually forever even with intense use, moreover they were also virtually indestructible by bending at low temperatures.
The production of these steels stopped after the fall of the empire, with the death of the three Archimages the knowledge to make these alloys was lost. After 4000 steel began to be produced in other places using blast furnaces, however the produced alloys were far behind the ones produced by Urris. The stocks of these materials and especially Mien-Steel were highly valued and a great source of contention.

The Amieve Empire was the first large independent state that rose to rival the magocracies. It was the major power of the Siemetv Plateau It was founded in 2650 by Casm of the Mertoch. It fell in 3113.

Timeline

History

Mertoch Dinasty (2650-2821)

Amieve Empire extension at the death of Casm in 2680

Mieir Rule and First Civil War (2790-2858)

Fall (3053-3113)
